We had our art and coffee meetup event on Sunday, September 17th at the Whitney Museum. It was a surreal experience for all of the sighted people in attendance.
Some sighted participants said, “I don’t know how a visually impaired or blind person navigates through a normal day”. Everyone was able to experience the sculptures in the same way, through description and touch. Some visually impaired people were even guiding the sighted from one gallery to the next.
Overall, this was a unique and enjoyable event for everyone in attendance. Special thanks to the Whitney Museum for hosting.
